Design & Communications

I design innovative media materials and creative communication strategies for clients around the globe, specializing in brand identity development and online promotional campaigns.

I’m currently exploring mobile web and responsive design theory.

Mobile-Optimized Website Design

In mid-2012, I re-designed the Transform Press publishing company website, seeking to optimize it for mobile viewing, specifically on smartphones and tablet devices, and to allow basic updates to be done by the client. The resulting solution was built in WordPress with a responsive layout design, fitted with a simple Paypal-based shopping cart appropriate for the company’s limited catalog. The client is able to edit the site with ease, and the shopping cart integrates seamlessly into the site’s clean aesthetic style.

Graphic Design and Brand Identity Development

From 2005 – 2011, I conceptualized and developed the identity and communications strategy for Symbiosis Events. I created a logo, several websites, and many flyers, posters, advertisements, and program booklets. I managed the graphic design, copywriting, printing, web design, social media, email list, public relations, and general advertising and promotions for our events.

We set high standards for original artwork, ecological printing choices, and articulate colloquial language, resulting in a cohesive brand identity that remains distinct amongst industry peers.

Web, Social Media, and Crowd-Funding

From 2011 to early 2012, I developed a logo, website, and social media strategy for the upcoming film of the best-selling novel, The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk. I coordinated a successful online fundraising campaign in summer 2011, raising over $76,000 on Kickstarter (127% of the target amount) in 60 days.

Interface Design

In 2011 I designed a software interface for Steep Hill Lab‘s proprietary QuantaCann technology, featuring a touchscreen menu for customized laboratory analysis hardware.

Technical Consultation

In 2008 I provided technical consultation to San Francisco sustainable design firm Articulate SF for the launch of the Lexus Hybrid Living web campaign. I translated concepts from the visioning process into viable plans of action for the graphic design and programming teams, in addition to macroscopic planning, database design, and traffic flow design.
