Where There Is No Word for ‘Art’
Bali is an extraordinary place, where nothing stays the same, yet everything seems ageless… The Balinese language has no specific word for Art, i am told, yet the island is adorned with elaborate detail. It is a land of inexplicable paradoxes, with a certain beguiling charm that can be both delightful and maddening in turn.
I visited Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, and Tanah Lot on this trip, all places i’ve been before, which perhaps allowed me to look more deeply at subtleties i might have previously missed. Sometimes, particularly in Bali, it’s the little things that matter.
